Bluebird UGA Lunch & Learn

Bluebird was delighted to host Lunch and Learn, a Home Canning Workshop…
at UGA Griffin Experiment Station Garden, with Canning Expert, Susan Howington, UGA, National Center for Home Food Preservation.

Participants received a certificate, enjoyed a tasting table of Georgia products, Strawberry Chicken Salad, Callaway Blue Spring Water, and a UGA screen presentation of Home Canning Methods.

Food Preservation Course Certificate – At a fun and informative day, students received a ‘Food Preservation Course’ Certificate for participation in the community canning class. (Certificate for private purposes only, no public certification.)

The Tasting Table at the Bluebird Workshop included

Georgia grown berries, Georgia pecans and Georgia Value-added preserved products & honey.
ALL have been offered in Bluebird CSA farm shares.
Highlighted at the workshop were Bluebird producers included in farm share Add-On’s such as Pure Bliss granola, Hidden Springs Honey, Dickey Farms peaches, Strawberry Patch berries (catered lunch of Strawberry Chicken Salad), Callaway Blue Spring Water, Laurie Jo Preserves, Parisa’s Pasta Sauces and many more. Local bakers sourced from Zebulon grown organic strawberries and provided Bluebird assortments of cottage baked cheesecakes, desserts and farm to table muffins & breads.
